Thank God for this episode. I was starting to think everyone at this hospital forgot how to have a good laugh. I missed all the joking around to lighten up the seriousness that came with saving lives. Bailey’s face when Callie was debating/explaining the debate she kept having with herself over whether or not to go all the way with Erica was p-r-i-c-e-l-e-s-s PRICELESS! Callie should’ve known better than to turn to Bailey for advice. She always seems to end up being the person everyone in the hospital talks about their problems to. Bailey and I get more and more similar with every episode.
George’s interaction with the kid Duncan who was refusing to have surgery was too adorable. While he was trying to explain the surgery to Duncan, Duncan’s father interjected, afraid that George was scaring Duncan, but George said confidently, "I think us airplane guys just like to know how things work.” George saw the toy Duncan was playing with and he also saw a little of himself in the kid probably. He made that connection and he was ultimately the reason why Duncan went through with the surgery that saved his life. George has always had a knack for interacting with people and we rarely get to see it over the awkwardness that is inherent to his character when it comes to talking to females he happens to like (i.e. Meredith and Callie).
Watching Cristina discover the dermatology wing of the hospital and their fruity drinks and massage therapists was hilarious and my favorite part of the episode (after seeing Derek half-naked in the first five minutes of the episode when Izzie knocked on him and Meredith’s door, of course). It was like she was high. It got even better when Izzie and Mer joined the party. "There's no mocking in derm... only warmth and light," Christina said about the "happy, glowy" world she discovered. It was such an unusual place for her to be, for Mer and Izzie too, but especially Cristina who’s normally so unfeeling and serious.

I still have a hard time understanding Mer's relationship with her mom even though she's dead. I understood that she had to die for Mer to be free and realize her potential, but this fascination everyone continues to have with her still blows my mind. This was even more obvious to me when Der brought in the journal. How rude of him to just go through Mer's house like that. I know he technically lives there, but it's still her house. She was completely distracted by thoughts of her mom and what the journal might contain that she didn't even bother to stay in her room with the naked Derek. It was only fitting that at the end of the episode, she read the journal with Cristina, though the fact that they did this in Derek's trailer and not Cristina's apartment was weird. Just another quirk to add to the Mer and Cristina odd friendship list.

Such a bad move on George's part! As much as I hate that Lexie follows him around like a puppy dog, I can't believe he didn't notice this gesture. She had on a ridiculous amount of eyeshadow. The girl put on makeup and tried to look pretty for him and he was too much of a prick to even notice! I felt so bad for her and wanted to slap him upside his head. Watching her go to the bar after seeing him at the table with all of his former fellow interns was further proof to Lexie that George was no longer on the same level as her and that he didn't care about her at all to even remember to invite her to the bar to celebrate.

- Duncan’s reaction to seeing the other patient Arnie with his face off in the operating room was both funny and frightening. I would’ve had the exact same disgusted/fascinated reaction.
